The Jacksonville Electrical JATC is now offering electrical training courses online for all electrical workers & personnel associated with IBEW Local 177 members; and employees of area signatory contractors.  These courses are Continuing Education Courses (CET) that utilize an online approach, therefore a computer running a full version of Windows with a browser and connected to the Internet is required.  Many of the courses include a textbook that is provided in the registration.  To register for a course, contact the Training Center at 904-737-7533 or go to http://www.electricaltrainingalliance.org/ and in the top menu and select “Learning Center”; select “Blended Learning” in the left menu (it will likely be preselected); hit the “Launch” button on the right, and finally select “Register” on the login screen.  Next, choose the Jacksonville Electrical JATC under the training location window; contact the Apprenticeship office for the Password to register and then follow the instructions.  The JATC will verify your membership with the Local before your registration request is approved.

Online CET Courses

Continuing Electrical Training (CET) courses are designed for both an introduction of the topic along with content for the experienced electrical installer.  CET courses cover theory, the latest concepts, and installation practices for both electrical construction and maintenance.  These courses cover all the multiple chapters of a full size textbook.  Unless specified, these courses include an associated textbook that is constructed with color illustrations/photographs throughout along with detailed current topic information.

The length of time for the courses vary.  Some courses require a periodical face-to-face classroom & lab sessions (contact the Training Center for details).  These are not survey level courses, but full length deliverable courses, therefore plan to schedule a significant amount of hours to complete the course successfully.  The courses can also be delivered as a self-study course only for distance learning purposes…again, contact the JATC for details.  In either approach, the on-line LMS (Learning Management System) maintains all the scores and activity of the learner for the JATC instructor to monitor and provide assistance.
