16.   Green Fundamentals GF 101
Green Jobs” is really directed to perform in accordance with goals, rather than to simply complete a project.  Green goals, esoteric to the electrical industry, have a common emphasis:  how to construct, operate, and maintain a building with minimum impact on the environment and people.  The building goals include renewable resources, energy efficiency, on-site power generation, and LEED functions and improvements to building performance.  12 contact hours.

17.  Building Automation  BA 210
Electricians will gain knowledge of energy saving measures in electrical systems through this overview of building automation.   Topics included are lighting controls and devices, HVAC control systems and devices, fire protection/security systems, voice-data-video systems, elevator systems, and other automated building operation and applications.    12 contact hours

18.  Programmable Logic Controllers PLC 410
This is an introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and programming.  Concepts include analog sensors and control systems, indirect and indexed addressing, intermittent and continuous process control, and PLC Standard IEC611331-3 Sequential Functions and charts.    12 contact hours.

19.  Fuel Cells FC 410
This is a study of fuel cell basics.  Participants will gain proficiency in both applications and installation of this alternative source of energy.   12 contact hours

20. Power Quality  420
The study of power distribution systems better enable electricians to assess types of power problems that should be solved in order to reduce energy consumption and costs.  Topics include harmonics and troubleshooting the five types of fuel cells.    12 contact hours

21.  Telecom & Data Systems 101
This course will equip the entry-level worker with the fundamental knowledge and skills for
installation of telecommunications and data cabling systems to connect renewable energy sources to remote monitoring systems..  It begins with a review of electrical properties; then, proceeds to industry standards covering pathways and spaces, structured wiring architecture, unshielded twisted pair cables and apparatus, shielded twisted pair cables and apparatus, and coaxial cables and connectors.  Finally, installation steps are presented, along with adapters, cross-connections, and safe work practices. 15 contact hours.

22.   Boot Camp for Residential Energy Efficiency
This is an entry-level training module that acquaints unskilled electrical workers with basic electrical knowledge and skills.  Successful completion of this module will qualify the student to gain employment or remain employed by one of JAET’s affiliate electrical businesses.   The module will be Residential Boot Camp which will feature content that includes safety standards, tool recognition, AC/DC theory, Ohm’s Law, & basic circuitry.  36 contact hours.

23.   LED Lighting Systems X168
Participants will gain knowledge and skills of LEDs and LED lighting systems through hands-on and classroom delivery.  This course will cover LED history and science, color changing and white light LEDs, LED applications and installation methods, controls and programming (dimming, DMX), and understanding the LED market.
